This is my answer and my entry for Youth Essay Competition 2018, organised by the European Commission Directorate General for Single Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. A yearly competition open for young people (18-25 years old) from European Member States or COSME partners countries.

The following essay approaches the topic starting from a dilemma and also from the premise of status quo. Focusing on small, individual and (most important) highly possible changes as a basis for changing the world, I invite you on a journey through memories, experience, imagination, creativity and hopes, all seen through the lens of a 25 years old person.

Marisol is from Madeira, a Portuguese island where tourism is the main source of income. Marisol is 42 years old, left her job in a bank and went to Lugo, in the north of Spain, to carry out the "Erasmus for entrepreneurs" program with the company Vida Láctea for 3 months, where I met her during my experience with ESC, European Solidarity Corps.

Throughout these years Medicsen has won many competitions and resources at European level. Starting with phase 1 of the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument, which gave them € 50,000 in lost fund. The team is now preparing Phase 2, in which they will request 2 million.

The mission of Medicsen is to develop technology that can improve the quality of life with chronic diseases and focus on intelligent data analysis, simple interfaces of user interaction and non-invasive drug administration.
