I arrived in England. Met some of the participants. We talked about the pronunciation of our names. And I’m staying at the directors place till Sunday, because my host family is on a trip. I’m really looking forward to meet them. But my current “home” I’d say, is lovely & the people are so welcoming & caring!
Being in the airport, waiting for my flight - departing made me kinda nervous. I’m not usually that type that gets nervous, but this time, the 06th of Sep did. When I arrived at the London Heathrow airport, I met some of the other participants. They were really nice & you could not unsee their smiles as well. We were greeted by two lovely women, who drove us to the Moto, which is located in Bicester & is also the main building from my host organization. Welcomed with a notebook of our choice in various colors, me choosing coral & getting an participant guide book with a timetable for September & an envelope I haven’t open yet. Finally, we’ve met the person, we’ve been keeping in touch with via all the mails. It was the director herself. We’ve also met another worker/leader, who brought lots of laughter into the room. Talked about the pronunciation of our names & all the general info of what will be happening the next few days & weeks. Some participants will sleep at the Moto throughout the year & another participant from Spain & I will be staying in host families in Witney. I drove with one of the leaders. I really got the roadtrip vibe, you always see on movies. The ones where you plug your phone in, start music & sing along? Yup, this was us today. My host family is currently on a trip till Sunday, so I got to stay at the directors & her husbands place. Welcoming, warm, caring & funny. That’s how I would describe them. We ate together, talked for awhile, went to see the house of my host family, bought Ben & Jerry ice cream from Sainsbury’s, got back home, and played the game “Two truths, one lie”. I lost, but they better watch out the next time, because I was just getting warmed up I thought it would take me a couple of days to feel comfortable, but they really made me feel comfortable, the moment I entered their home. At the end of the day, I found out that they love having guests over, but the women in the house, don’t really enjoy having spider guests, so do I. Her husband takes care of them lol. For those who are concerned, don’t worry, he doesn’t kill them, he just brings them to the fresh air. So all in all I’m happy & excited to see where this journey takes me. #Godblessya
