About how eating and movies with a speaking snowman cheer us up these days.
It's been a while again and we're still in quarantine. At least for one more week until it's officially supposed to be over and everything will re-open...theoretically. The increasing temperature outside and the sun coming out every day doesn't make it easier to not go out with friends, but like I said, it will be over soon. Of course that doesn't mean that we can do whatever we want with a ton of people without paying attention, but it does mean for me that I can go out with the other volunteers and have a picnic together without having to pay 3000 Lari each when the police sees us.
We all basically live together, just in flats right next to each other, and 3 of the others and me established our little movie nights during this quarantine. We had several movie lists before, but they contained many movies suggested by people that are not here in Georgia anymore, so we updated everything a bit and created a new one. Today Frozen was on the plan...both parts of course. We even rearranged our sitting space and put 2 mattresses to the floor to be able to lay down in front of the projector. It is super comfortable and cosy...it just made reaching for the popcorn a bit more complicated, but we figured something out^^.
One of us didn't see Frozen yet, so of course we had to introduce her to this amazing ice-world with speaking snowmans. Her conclusion after the first part: Olaf is her favourite character and Elsa is kind of weird and annoying because she doesn't talk, but still good. After the second movie her comment was: "Oh my God, I love Olaf even more now. They should make a movie just about him!!! Is there one already? I have to find it!". Said and done we also watched Olaf's adventures for finding a Christmas family tradition. Because that was still not enough laughing out loud at almost 2 am (luckily the last one living in their flat was still up and not too tired) we rewatched the best Olaf-scenes from the second part. For us that was definitely Samantha...I mean...Samantha is the best part of the whole movie...and all the scenes where he shortly sums up for everyone what happened so far. It's just genius, so if you haven't seen the second part of Frozen yet, but loved Olaf in the first one already, you have my recommendation...and the rest of the second part is also quite nice ;)
When we don't watch movies there is another good occupation for us right now: FOOD. It doesn't matter if it's actually eating or just talking and fantasizing about our favourite dishes or what we had for which meal and when and what we're going to eat next. I also think that bazari opened again this week, but so far I was just too lazy to go, so I'll check it out within the next days. If it really opened again that would save me. Of course in the shops there are lots of vegetables too, but I hate buying them there. I don't know why, but I always become super nervous when I have to go there, ask for a bag and give it back to the cashier to weigh it and put a sticker with the price on the bag while 3 more people stand behind me and also want to weigh their stuff. Maybe it sounds weird, but I just can't stand it...for whatever reason at bazari I don't feel pressured, it's more relaxed for me...and additionally it's super close to our flat, not even 5 minutes by foot.
Tomorrow we will probably have 27°C and sunshine the whole day. That's going to be fun sitting in front of my open window...though maybe I'll go for a little walk on my own in the morning when not too many people are outside yet.
