At first I didn’t like it, but I started to like it more and more.
Happened from Tuesday to Thursday. Felt like the weekend, but wasn’t. Different nations, but mostly Germans. Lots of languages, but barely English (at least in the breaks). Happened in the second biggest city of England. Without looking at the subtitle, did you figure it out? Impossible. You did? Wow you’re a genius. I wonder were you got that answer from.
The beginning was to be honest very exhausting. It was lots of talking from both sides. There were lots of volunteers all over the UK. Wales, England.. ok not all over but kind of spread. They even gave us £40 to arrange our lunch & dinner by ourselves, which I didn’t expect to happen. I thought going there would be boring, exhausting & I would come back home empty handed, but apparently it was helpful, very interesting and I even came home with some ca£h.
Apparently you can’t show the peace (✌) sign, when your palm is facing towards the person, because it’s like showing the middle finger. Not just in the UK, but in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and other countries too. So be aware of that. But all in all, I’ve lost myself a couple of times in Birmingham, went to a gospel night in a pub with a group, met volunteers that live in London, build some friendships, had a great burger at spoons and one of the leaders of the On Arrival Training made miracles happen with my back. Doesn’t sound that bad does it?
