- One thing less on my bucket list -
Since we arrived in Norway one year ago, we wanted to go kayaking on the fjord, but somehow it didn’t work out. Unfortunately our organization doesn’t have the equipment and people we asked either didn’t have their kayaks anywhere near Nordfjordeid, where we could have borrowed them, or didn’t have kayaks at all. Now, thanks to Anne Karin and a Facebook post, we found a guy who lent us his two kayaks over the weekend. Barbara and I took the chance yesterday/the day before yesterday (it’s already after midnight), and went for a little trip till the cloudy weather turned into storm and rain.
Fortunately Artur didn’t want to go today/yesterday, and I had the chance to go on another trip with Oleksandr. We went quite far out for a long time and were pretty exhausted after we got back, but it was definitely worth the experience. We even had sunny weather and 24 degrees! Perfect for relaxing on the water – and getting sunburned, but who cares ;)
Apart from kayaking and dinner driving I was busy decorating our hallway with photos we took over the whole year. Barbara helped me creating the headline out of magazines and together we hang our wall collage up. The idea is for other volunteers to add pictures from their experiences, just to keep all the funny stuff in good memory. On that occasion Barbara and I had the chance to finally watch the new episodes of GoT on Thursday evening, which we can only recommend :)
The time I have left between being creative, sporting, working and joining a vintage car rally, I spend on preparations concerning my departure. Things must be sorted out, farewell as well as birthday gifts made and our surprise for the farewell party is also still in a process, which takes a lot of time, and is the reason for my late/early blog entry today – again. I really develop to a night owl these days, but it will be over at the latest back in Germany, where it is actually night and not twilight. The question is if that is a thing to look forward to or not… we’ll see.
