Phone addiction: signs and how to get rid of it.
Technologies created to help us often prevent us from leading fulfilling lives. Such ailments often appear when there is a life problem. And the craving for devices becomes a bell that it's time to change everything.
After moving to Munich, I faced the problem of phone addiction. Young people cannot part with their smartphones even for a second, checking their mail or even simply turning on the screen. I have picked up several signs of dependence on the phone: you do not put off your device for a second; when you sleep, the device lies next to the bed; communication on the device takes priority over meetings; you are afraid of loss, constantly check whether the gadget is nearby; a lot of time is spent on selfies, posting on social networks. When I realized that I was spending too much time holding my phone, I decided to find a solution to this problem.
In all European cities, the telephone today is not just an opportunity to send a message or make a call at any time. Being all the time among people, I saw that my acquaintances pay much more attention to their pen pals than to those who are sitting next to me or even worse: sitting at the same table with me, a friend throws me jokes or pictures. Thanks to such popular social networks as Instagram, Telegram, we find out the latest news, follow the events of our friends and acquaintances. This was the reason for such a capture of all young users by smartphones. And as a result of this, the emergence of telephone addiction.
Fortunately, I watch the world change, young people realize how much time is wasted due to attachment to the gadget. I have wondered how to stop wasting so much time looking at the screen, and here are some tips: put the device on silent mode; try to use the device deliberately, record where, when and how long you entered;
for those who want to spend less time on social networks, programs such as, for example, Focus Lock have long been released. I installed this app not long ago, but I can already feel the progress. It blocks files that take too many hours; read a book; choose a place in the apartment where you will not touch the device. This is a good way to take your mind off your phone and pay more attention to your friends and hobbies.
For example, I began to read much more, suggested to my mentor to organize an evening club of readers. We got together once a week and shared the stories of the books we read and then exchanged books. Of course, a smartphone is an integral part of the life of any young person, and I am not campaigning to sell my device. On the contrary, I want you to control your behavior and appreciate the time resource, which is worth its weight in gold today.
