Holá! Back in alter freshness! It got hotter in Chios so now I have a reason to show my legs... lol. Since last Friday I got some sort of allergy and ouiii, it’s itchy... (at this point dear reader, but only if you are brave enough, you may continue reading - otherwise exit). It sounds uglier then it actually is and it might be related to all the little insects and the myriads of flies here. Last night (terrible), this one fly always landed on my face, my hands and my legs so I decided to hide under my blankets but it got so incredibly warm... and I needed to breathe but there was this fly outside so I stayed under the blankets... nearly died of suffocation.
The fly probably didn’t make it till the morning (or it was somewhere hiding and breeding new flies to terrorize me = more likely). Yes, some weeks ago I changed rooms with my house mate and I decorated it as nicely as I could. It’s messy but before I go on holidays I’ll clean up. Big Indrapromise. (I know my mom and other certain people who are concerned about my health are reading my blog so I kinda have to write that :P) yeah, cleaning... and that would mean this week! Federico (housemate) is leaving this Saturday to travel Greece with his brother and he hopes to make it to Istanbul (which remains for the Greek people always Konstantinople and nothing else) and I might never see him again... sigh... Istanbul is a very dangerous place. (Okay, I’m being too dramatic right now)
Greeks look and describe Turkey as it was hell and it might be (for the Greeks). Whatever, the relation between Greeks and Turks might not be a perfect Mediterranean love affair but what do you expect? Islands got conquered, reclaimed, occupied. Thousands of people got killed, taken away, cast out. Cities, homes and hopes simply lost... both sides might be a lil tired of that. Ego katalaveno.
I’m not going for a little island hopping as I actually planned but straight to London (because I missed this lil dirty hole of a city so much). I will see my sister and my nephew again! He will turn 3 so we’ll have a byebyebaby party ;D although he will always stay our baby! I’m curious whether he can also speak another language besides GER and EN... But before I’ll land on British ground I will stop by in Athens and visit the turtles and turtle party a bit.
I just booked the ferry this morning and I’ll have a comfortable (supposingly hot and not well-air-conditioned) cabin for the night of Apr22. I’m trying to cut down my baggage but you know... whatever, lame excuses of insecure teenagers being too occupied with their looks...
Since I don’t have to wear my big bold woollen winter socks anymore I let the sun shine on my feet and I discovered this little something from Canada! What is it? When I was working in the hostel on Vancouver Island last summer I opened a door with my foot under it... OUCH, the edgy door drove onto my left big toe nail and it has resulted in a dark red blood spot within my toe nail. So far, due to the natural growth this little spot moved and is now near to be gone! How exciting, eh? So before it disappears I took a picture and keep it not as a painful memory of small hostel accidents but as memory of a sweet summer...
And now summer is round the corner again. Yeah, winter was brain frost and I prefer to forget about it, edaxi?
There is a picture my mom took of me and the famous Deutschhaus here in Chios, it’s a language school but for some reason brutally called Deutschhaus. I think at least it sounds so... violent. Naja, it’s run by a German (I guess Bavarian which is not quite the same) and I just wanted a picture with me and the Deutschhaus.
Èla! Last Monday I met Niko here in Mesas. Auweia, remember Niko? Julia’s boyfriend, virgo, Canada lover, lawyer, German speaking Niko who is talking way too much. For my luck he was meeting a friend so we didn’t t have much opportunity to talk about difficult politics in the Middle East, the latest researches on cancer or the most interesting evah: German law!
Sorry Niko, next lifetime.
I continue eating popcorn (with salt because white sugar is EVIL), pack my luggage and try to catch some sun.
Sun hasn’t been out for a while but it is warm. I guess because (and here comes the layperson again) the earth and the trees have to breathe because the sun is heating up everything so the breath of the earth is creating clouds which are not really clouds but er, fog. So it’s foggy and the sun is behind the fog. Hopefully not for too long.
Keep on hoping,
Love from Indra
(And too all Greek people: KALO PASXA!)
(Plus: Love with the Turks please!)
