Which role do times of economical and political crisis play in the rising of totalitarism and dictatorships? How are populist narratives built up and how do they rethorically work? Last weekend, I visited Chemnitz, the third largest city in the state of Saxony. Until relatively recently, I knew nothing about the city, which is only an hour or so away from where I am currently living and working. However, recent events in the area made it a place that I was eager to visit, so that I could understand more about the city and see what it was like for myself.
