Perhaps today you woke up, you saw that over the past day you found 602 infected with coronavirus, went outside, took a mask with you and put it on correctly. Or maybe not. But the fact is that the number of detected infections in Europe is growing every day. At a briefing every day, the Minister of Health urges people not to forget that loosening quarantine does not mean lifting it, and asks to be responsible. But it still doesn’t work. I'm worried about kartina AK and other volunteers. On the project, I periodically move to my office gallery. and in the streets of Berlin it’s very crowded, I think like in other large cities of Germany and Europe. What can we expect volunteers to do? Complete relaxation or hard quarantine again?
It's not about testing
A week ago, the Ministry of Health explained the increase in the number of patients with an increase in testing capacities. The Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Medical Officer B said that laboratories began to produce more test results in order to relieve the queue that has formed in recent weeks. Now the minister admits that the matter is not only testing, but also weakening of quarantine: “There is no such tendency in Europe that an increase in the number of cases depends on an increase in the number of tests. Trends in the increase in the number of cases are clearly visible with the weakening of quarantine in Europe. ”
Will it not be better in summer?
When quarantine began to be weakened in Germany, they hoped for the seasonality of coronavirus infection. They counted on the fact that COVID-19 will behave even more aggressively, but still like normal flu, that is, due to the heat and dry weather it will recede. It was necessary to weaken the quarantine so that all state systems functioned normally, and the number of cases in the summer should have been reduced.
There are several scenarios for the seasonality of coronavirus: zero seasonality, green, yellow, and black.
Our quarantine is adaptive; it is strengthened and weakened in each land separately, depending on the dynamics of the diseased. If seasonality were “zero”, that is, no one would be sick in the summer, then by the end of the year in Germany there would have been 1000 deaths from COVID-19. But as of June 18, there were already 966 dead. That is, we are no longer following this scenario, but moving along the yellow scenario. This means that by the end of 2020 there should be another 4000 dead.
What is our plan?
If there will be the same number of infected people further, then the quarantine will return earlier than we have time to swim in the sea and sunbathe on the beach. Already on June 22, hard quarantine may return to some lands. Due to restrictions, the mandatory wearing of masks in public buildings and vehicles remains. Activities of children's recreation facilities are prohibited. Mass events are allowed if there will be no more than 1 person per 5 square meters. m. In shops, cafes and other public buildings can not be more than 1 person per 10 sq.m. Carrying passengers in public transport, except in seated places, is prohibited.
If we work together to do what is written in the recommendations: the business will comply with all anti-epidemic standards, people will wear masks, keep their distance and wash their hands, we have a chance to follow the yellow-green scenario. Taking off the mask, think about these deaths and about people who may die. And in Germany, it will be possible to keep the yellow-green scenario, that is, the number of cases will drop a little, then we will spend the summer without hard
I think I, like all other volunteers, would really like this quarantine to go through as soon as possible. Because, my gallery can’t work and delight visitors with its exhibitions, because we are still closed. And the guys who are on the project in museums and also can not work. My friend is working on a project at the gay museum in Berlin, his name is Azgur. We talked with him, and he thinks that their museum exhibitions will not be able to function until September, because their work depends on tourist traffic, but because as the border with most third world countries is closed, there is no traffic. Azgur says that the hostel has been empty for several months, which is located next to their museum. Usually when he goes to work, it is very noisy, there are a lot of young people from Russia, Turkey, China, South Korea. And now there is silence, very unusual. Of course, I would like everyone to be conscious young people, and observe the mask regime, it would be very good, and then all together, we could fully work and help people on our projects.
