E.V.S. experience at Essertfallons Farm
It all began in 2016 when a need for changing the way I was living life occurred.
To be more exactly, on 28 June. When I saw an occasion for volunteering in a community in Switzerland.
How all of this started?
quite simple like hey, I have an idea. Why not volunteer for one year in a community!?...
It all began in 2016 when a need for changing the way I was living life occurred.
To be more exactly, on 28 June. When I saw an occasion for volunteering in a community in Switzerland.
The community Stanciova from my country posted an article about this on their website.
I knew right in that moment, when I saw the opportunity, that I wanted to do it.
After I read about what an E.V.S. implies and the info pack pdf about the Essertfallon community, I applied and I waited for an answer.
After a few days, the answer came and it was a positive one.
Meanwhile, I also got to meet the other super volunteer, Melinda, with who I shared this interesting experience.
When we arrived in Switzerland at the farm we realized we need to be quite flexible.
We had two full weeks of participating in the Permaculture Design Course that took place at the farm, who was organized by Cecilia Furlan.
After that, we participated on the E.V.S. On Arrival and Middle Term Evaluation Training, coordinated by Martino and Vladimir. The second and last training of E.V.S. took place in March 2017.
In the next months, we got to know a bit the people living in the community and their way of living. Getting to know more about the values and vision of the community.
The fact that this farm is put at the disposition of people with a sense of initiative.
I started working on different projects that took place in the community, like:
helping in construction for the Healing center
"La Maison en Paille", preparing the gardens for the winter, I took responsibilities in a variety of areas
(like welcoming guest, cooking, cleaning, creating events, facilitating weekly reunions, working on websites etc.)
In this process of social discovery and personal development, working activities I had alongside with me the support and understanding,
as much as possible, of the members of the community.
In a community, youll get to live quite a complex life and begin to enjoy common activities from permaculture gardening,
natural/ eco-building,renovation and maintenance, singing, dancing, woman circle, yoga classes to time shared with family, spiritual healing
and other occult activities...
You'll enjoy lots of nature, healthy food, learning new skills, meeting new and
interesting people, sharing and caring, having kids
around, learning a new language, hiking in the mountains, learning new ways to cook, overcoming your limits, living in a
sustainable way, respecting, tolerating and accepting others.
As a bonus comes the fact that you can see a lot of starsin the night sky ;)
