Simply having a wonderful Denmark-time!
My first days in Denmark
So here I am! A nine hour journey away from home, starting my voluntary service in Sønderborg. I have to admit I was pretty shocked at first- that it was really happening, that I was really daring the jump into cold water. It's not easy to adapt to the new situation right away, that's something I experienced quickly. But getting to know Lilli and Lea better and working in the kindergarten in Broager for the first time helped me a lot with starting to find my place here- which of course is a process which will grow and develop with all the stuff I am experiencing and learning! In only eleven days I already had a lot of fun: Visiting Sønderborg and Flensburg, cooking and exploring the surroundings with the girls and of course working in the kindergarten. I have only been to the kindergarten six times, but I already feel like I've worked there for a way longer period of time. I was warmly welcomed by the kindergarteners and the children, who are all very open and lovely. I know that there is so much more to find out during the six months ahead, but I already know that I'll enjoy the new challenges, because that's what my first days here have shown me!
